CADbyAI.com

Privacy policy

Last updated: 19 October 2026. This page says what cadbyai.com and the CADbyAI software collect, and what they do not.

1. The short version

  • We do not store your IP address. Not on the website, not in our servers’ visit records, not in the license service.
  • No cookies, no advertising trackers. The website does not set cookies.
  • Your design files never leave your PC. The software sends us only what section 2 lists. (Optional contribution mode is off by default; see section 8.)
  • We keep your email address only to send you the download link, renewal reminders and new-version notices.

2. What we collect and why

When you ask for the download link

You enter your email address on the download page. Your browser sends it to our license service, which stores: your email address, the dates of your first and latest request, how many times you asked, and a referral code if you came through a friend’s link. We use it to email you the download link (the link itself expires after 24 hours), renewal reminders and new-version notices.

When the software registers or activates

The software sends the license service: a machine code (a one-way hash of your PC’s identifier that cannot be turned back into it), the PC name, and the purchase or referral code you enter. The service stores these together with your license dates and referral bonus days, so it can issue and extend your license.

When you visit this website

A small request from your browser tells us that a page was opened. We record: the time, your country (as set by Cloudflare), the page path, a category for where you came from (for example “google” or “direct”), whether it was the first page of your visit, and your browser’s user-agent text, which we use to filter out robots. We use this only to count visits and see which pages are read.

3. What we do not collect

  • IP addresses. Our web server does not write access logs for this site, the visit records above contain no IP address, and the license service does not store one.
  • Cookies, advertising identifiers, or any tracking by other companies. Fonts and video thumbnails are served from this site.
  • Your SolidWorks files, models or drawings. They stay on your PC.
  • Anything you type to Claude. That is between you and Anthropic under your own Claude account.

Two honest notes. Cloudflare sits in front of this site and necessarily sees network addresses to deliver and protect it; see section 5. And when something breaks, our server’s technical error log can briefly contain a network address; these logs are deleted automatically after about 14 days.

4. Stopping spam and abuse without storing IPs

To stop bots and repeated free trials, the license service counts requests per connection. It does not store the address: it turns it into a short one-way code that changes every day and cannot be reversed. These counters are deleted automatically within 2 days at most.

5. Who processes data for us

  • Cloudflare provides our DNS, protection and delivery, and runs the license service and its storage. Cloudflare processes network addresses to do this, under its own privacy policy.
  • Resend delivers the emails we send you (download link, reminders). It receives your email address and the message.
  • YouTube is contacted only when you press play on a video. Before that, no request goes to YouTube. After that, YouTube’s own privacy policy applies.

We do not sell your data and do not share it for advertising.

6. How long we keep it

  • Email address and request dates: until you ask us to delete them.
  • License and machine records: for as long as your license exists, and until you ask us to delete them.
  • Website visit records: deleted automatically after about 14 days.
  • Download links: expire after 24 hours.

7. Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, to delete it, or to stop emailing you. If you are in the European Economic Area, you may also object to processing and complain to your local data protection authority. To do any of this, contact us (section 9). Deleting your license record means the software can no longer be activated on that PC.

8. Optional contribution mode (off by default)

  • Off by default. Nothing is recorded unless you ask Claude to turn it on, and you can turn it off at any time.
  • By default it stays on your PC. Notes are saved in %LOCALAPPDATA%\cadbyai\contrib and sent nowhere. Delete that folder to erase them.
  • A note holds only a short topic, the standard concerned, what was wrong, what is right and why. File names and paths are removed automatically. Never drawings, models, company or customer names, or your email.
  • Sending is a second, separate yes. Only if you agree, a note is sent together with your machine code, which our server turns into a one-way code to count how many different people made the same correction and to credit bonus days. No IP address is stored. Notes already sent cannot be recalled, because an approved rule becomes part of the shared rules.

Not turning it on has no effect on features, price or trial. See the docs for how it works.

9. Changes to this policy

If the software or website starts collecting something new, we update this page first and change the date at the top.
